Being a veteran in politics, State Sen. Bill DeMora hit the ground running in his first term.

A team player, Sen. DeMora understood that his constituents and Ohioans want a senator who will work across the aisle to get the job done.
Sen. DeMora’s approach is always one of cooperation, and he is proud to say that he has co-sponsored more legislation that passed the Ohio Senate than any other Senator in the last three years.
For example, Sen. DeMora worked with state Sen. Louis W. Blessing III by cosponsoring “The Drink Spiking” bill to help deter date rape by requiring bars and restaurants to provide date rape drug testing devices for their customers’ use free of charge.
Sen. DeMora worked again with Sen. Blessing on a proposed law to repeal an existing Ohio law that allows a minor to get married.

At the same time, Sen. DeMora does not shy away from standing up to Republicans when he believes Ohioans need a strong voice speaking on their behalf.
Sen. DeMora worked with two Ohio House Democratic colleagues – Christine Cockley and Mark Sigrist – to urge the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction to ensure humane, safe and lawful conditions for individuals detained by ICE at the Butler County Jail.
In addition, Sen. DeMora has fought for safety protections for nurses on the job, to respect the will of the people for voting to make cannabis legal, and to protect voters’ rights.
Sen. DeMora is a huge sports fan, but he believes fair is fair so he proposed legislation banning failing billionaire sports owners from receiving public money to hold sports owners and franchises responsible to their fans.

Always putting fans first, Sen. DeMora also proposed legislation to cap fees from third-party ticket sellers at $5.
Sen. DeMora channeled that same passion into supporting more state funding for public schools, reducing energy bills for Ohio consumers, and broadening affordable healthcare access for Ohioans.
Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye, Sen. DeXora (no, that is not a typo) also kicked off “The GaXe” week between his beloved Ohio State football team and that team up North by crossing out every X in the Ohio Statehouse.
And to put a Buckeye on top, he introduced bipartisan legislation to officially designate the buckeye candy as the state candy of Ohio, honoring one of the state’s most recognizable and sweetest traditions.
